Two men have been taken to hospital with first degree burns following a house fire in Dublin city this morning.

Two men have been taken to hospital with first degree burns following a house fire in Dublin city this morning.

The Dublin Fire Brigade rescued the two from the blaze at a house in Moat View Court in Clondakin just after 7.30am.

They were brought to Beaumont Hospital suffering from smoke inhalation and burns to their arms.

Meanwhile an apartment block in Clontarf had to be evacuated at seven o'clock this morning after a fire broke out there.

Three units of the Dublin Fire Brigade attended the scene and brought the blaze under control.

No one was injured and an investigation is to be carried out.
