Taoiseach defends St Patrick's Day trips

Official trips by Government ministers to 45 overseas destinations for St Patrick’s Day are a global marketing opportunity for the country, the Taoiseach Bertie Ahern told the Dáil.

Cabinet members as well as junior ministers will be jetting to far-flung locations like Australia, Malaysia and Argentina.
