Motorists urged to take care amid freezing conditions
Motorists are being urged to take care on the roads this morning following snow, sleet and freezing rain in many areas.
Met Éireann says the worst affected areas are in west Munster, Connacht and Ulster.
Conditions are said to be particularly bad on the N80 between Portlaoise and Stradbally, on the N69 in Kerry, the N8 in Thurles and the N6 between Moate and Athlone.
AA Roadwatch says conditions are also very dangerous on the N16 Sligo road and on the N15 Donegal road.
