Ahern’s ally Collins to give tribunal evidence today

The Taoiseach's close friend and political ally Tim Collins is due to give evidence to the Mahon Tribunal at Dublin Castle today.

The tribunal has already heard that Mr Collins set up the mysterious B/T account from which Celia Larkin received a IR£30,000 loan in 1993.

Bertie Ahern told the tribunal that the account was a "building trust" set up to hold funds for the repairs to his St Luke's constituency office in the Drumcondra area of Dublin.

Mr Collins is a trustee of St Luke's.
