Revenue to investigate Celia Larkin’s IRL£30,000 loan

The Revenue Commissioners are reportedly set to investigate the IRL£30,000 loan paid to the Taoiseach's former partner Celia Larkin out of a Fianna Fáil constituency account.

Mr Ahern told the tribunal last week that Ms Larkin received the loan in 1993 from the mysterious B/T account to help her buy a house for her elderly aunts.

He said he knew nothing about the matter at the time.

The loan was only paid back earlier this year after the tribunal began to query it.

Reports this morning say the Revenue Commissioners are now planning to write to Ms Larkin to clarify the tax position on the money.
