Three people die in separate overnight crashes
Three people have died following separate road accidents around the country last night.
A 35-year-old man died when his four-wheel drive went out of control and collided with a car near Coachford in Co Cork.
The driver of the second car, a 27-year-old woman, was hospitalised after the crash, but her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
Elsewhere, a pedestrian died after being struck by a car in Galway city just before 10pm, while a 46-year-old man died when the car he was driving collided with a pole on the Naas Road at Baldonnell just after 6pm.
