Man dies after Luas accident

A middle-aged man died after being knocked down by a Luas as he crossed tram lines.

The accident happened at 7.40pm on Saturday evening at Cookstown Way in Tallaght, south Dublin.

Gardaí said the man, aged in his late 50s, suffered serious head injuries in the crash and was taken to Tallaght Hospital where he died yesterday morning.

Gardaí at Tallaght are investigating the crash.
