Gardaí investigate Mountjoy Prison 'bullets' incident

Gardaí are investigating the circumstances surrounding the delivery of two bullets to Mountjoy Prison.

A man walked into the prison on Monday and handed a prison officer an envelope containing the bullets.

Yesterday a man and a woman were arrested at Chancery Street in connection with the incident.

The 29-year-old man and 21-year-old woman were detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

They are being questioned at Mountjoy Garda Station.
