Talks on new national pay deal get underway today

Efforts to reach a new national pay deal are due to get underway at Dublin Castle this morning.

The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, will be chairing a meeting of the social partners which will trigger the traditional round of negotiations on pay rises for the coming years.
