A Kildare man who told gardaí he was "living in fear" but would be "in even more trouble" if he revealed who he was scared of has had been given a three years sentence for possession of guns.

A Kildare man who told gardaí he was "living in fear" but would be "in even more trouble" if he revealed who he was scared of has had been given a three years sentence for possession of guns.

Christopher Dowling (aged 39) of Wolfhill, Athy said he was "set up" when gardaí arrested him for possession of two sawn-off shotguns and a pistol and claimed he had just found them in a house he owned in Kildare and he was bringing them to Dublin.
