Employment in construction sector down 6.4% last year

Employment in construction firms fell by 6.4% last year, according to the latest figures from the Central Statistics Office.

The CSO hasn't provided the numbers employed in the sector, but it says the figure for December 2007 was 6.4% lower than that for December 2006.
