An inquiry investigating alleged garda collusion in the murder of two RUC officers 19 years ago is reportedly taking legal action to get hold of a Cabinet document referring to the killings.

Reports this morning say the Smithwick Tribunal has informed the Government of plans to seek a High Court review of the refusal to release a report compiled by the then Minister for Justice, Gerard Collins.
