Injured captain and five crew rescued from Horncliff

Six people, including one with serious spinal injuries, have been rescued from a stricken cargo ship off the south coast.

The Horncliff was carrying 130 containers of fruit from the Caribbean to Dover when it got into trouble yesterday.

Around 90 containers were swept overboard in waves of up to 30 feet.

The captain who suffered very serious injuries is now on his way to hospital.

The Horncliff is now heading for Falmouth.
