Omagh relatives to hold talks with Policing Board
Relatives of the victims of the Omagh bombing victims are due to hold talks with members of the Policing Board later today.
The board has announced plans to conduct an independent external review of how the RUC and PSNI have handled their investigation into the 1998 atrocity.
The move follows intense criticism of the police by the judge who acquitted south Armagh man Sean Hoey of involvement in the Real IRA bombing.
The judge was particularly critical of two police officers who admitted lying during the trial and said others involved in the case may have played a role in the deception.
The relatives of the victims want a full cross-border inquiry amid claims that the police knew in advance about plans to bomb Omagh and failed to prevent the attack.
