Man dies in head-on car collision
A 29-year-old man has died following a car crash on the Carlow-Kildare border this morning.
The accident happened on the N9 near Castledermot at around 8.20am.
The man's car and another car were involved in a head-on collision. The driver of the other car sustained minor injuries.
The dead man is the third to be killed on Ireland's roads over the past 24 hours.
Last night, a man in his 50s died after his car hit a tree in the Santry area of Dublin, while a 17-year-old male died when his car crashed on the Mornington Road in Drogheda.
