Gormley reiterates confidence in Mahon Tribunal

Green Party leader John Gormley has reiterated his confidence in the Mahon Tribunal.

Mr Gormley was speaking as Green TDs and Senators gather in Dun Laoghaire to discuss their priorities for the forthcoming Dáil terms.

One item on the agenda is a government motion being drafted to counter a Fine Gael resolution expressing full support for the Mahon Tribunal.

Some Fianna Fáil TDs reportedly want to use the motion to criticise the cost of the tribunal and its alleged failure to prevent leaks of confidential information.

However, Mr Gormley told reporters that the Greens have confidence in the tribunal.
