Consumer confidence in the housing market is considerably weak, according to a survey by IIB Homeloans.

The bank says that fears about the global economy and rising interest rates may lead to a further drop in house prices over the months ahead.

However, it is predicting that signs of weaker growth in Europe will force the European Central Bank to cut interest rates rather than increase them further this year.
