DPP may give reasons for non-prosecution decisions

The Director of Public Prosecutions is reportedly considering changing his office's long running policy of not giving reasons when a decision is taken not to prosecute.

The policy is designed to protect suspects from being convicted in the eyes of the public if they are perceived to have escaped charges on a technicality.
