The father of one of the Omagh bombing victims has rejected an apology from former RUC and PSNI chief constable Ronnie Flanagan.

Mr Flanagan, who led an investigation that has been severely criticised by the Police Ombudsman and in the courts, apologised for the first time yesterday.

However, Victor Barker, whose son James was among the 29 victims of the bombing, says he was only sorry that nobody had been brought to justice and not for the fact that his investigation was flawed.

Mr Barker says Mr Flanagan should take responsibility for the failed investigation and should resign from his current job as Britain's Chief Inspector of Constabularies.
