Two killed in separate road accidents

A young man and woman were killed in separate road accidents tonight.

An 18-year-old woman was killed in a three car pile-up at Brooklodge, Glanmire, Co Cork at 6.35pm.

One other person from one of the other vehicles was taken to hospital but their injuries were not believed to be life threatening.

The road will remain closed overnight to allow gardaí to carry out a technical examination.

In the second crash a 28-year-old man died when the car he was driving veered off the road and crashed into a pole.

The accident happened at Bruckless, Co Donegal at 4.10pm. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
