Parents protest at rat-infested school in north Cork

Parents and students have been protesting today at a rat-infested school in north Cork.

Rahan National School just outside Mallow was closed for three days last week after the problem was discovered.

A HSE inspection found that four prefabs were infested with rats and the wooden walls were rotting following severe flooding in recent weeks.

Local parents say the prefabs were only supposed to be a temporary solution, but have now been in place for 23 years.
