A six-month-old child has been taken to hospital this morning following a fire at a Dublin apartment block.

A six-month-old child has been taken to hospital this morning following a fire at a Dublin apartment block.

The baby was taken to Temple Street hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.

The blaze broke out in a second-storey apartment at Applewood in Swords early this morning.

A number of units of Dublin Fire Brigade attended the scene.

The fire has now been brought under control.
