Up to 4000 criminals on the run in Ireland

Almost 4000 thousand convicted criminals who should be in Garda custody remain on the run in Ireland.

According to figures in today's 'Irish Independent' the committal warrants are orders for the arrest of people who have been convicted of an offence and are to be imprisoned.
