SIPTU to discuss Aer Lingus dispute proposals
SIPTU shop stewards are meeting this morning to discuss proposals aimed at resolving the bitter dispute over cost-cutting plans at Aer Lingus.
The proposals have been put forward by the National Implementation Body, which oversaw discussions between SIPTU and Aer Lingus management in November.
A two-day strike planned for that month was narrowly averted after the NIB's intervention.
SIPTU says the airline's €20m cost-cutting plans could reduce each workers' annual wages by around €5,000.
