Irish prison system failing, say chaplains
Chaplains at the country's jails are calling for a radical overhaul of the prison system.
They claim that under the present system many prisoners are falling into a cycle of repetitive offending, while victims get no sense that justice has in fact been done.
Spokesperson Imelda Wickham says jailing people at a cost of up to €90,000 a year is often a waste of money.
