Man dies after Derry taxi accident

The Police Service of Northern Ireland investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man early this morning.

The man was killed in Derry when he was struck by a taxi while walking home in the early hours.

The man, understood to be in his early 20s, was walking along the Clooney Road in Greysteel, near Derry, at 3am when he was hit by a minibus-type taxi.

A PSNI spokesman said it was not a hit-and-run and there were no reports of the driver or his passengers being injured.
