Celtic Star crew members to be paid arrears
Nine Romanian crewmembers of the Celtic Star, docked at Dublin port are to be paid arrears of up to €38,000.
Seatruck, the Irish charterer of the vessel has given an undertaking to pay the crew members.
The International Transport Federation is hopeful of a resolution to the dispute on board the Celtic Star following intervention from Seatruck.
The freighter has been docked at Dublin port since yesterday over poor pay and working conditions for its crewmembers.
ITF Ken Fleming says without the intervention of Seatruck, the situation on the Celtic Star could have continued until the new year
