Ahern: Friends did not offer 'dig-outs' during separation

The Taoiseach Bertie Ahern has told the Mahon Tribunal that none of his friends offered him any financial contributions at the time of his marital separation in 1987.

However, Mr Ahern claims that these friends gave him dig-outs amounting to IR£39,000 six and seven years later, because of financial difficulties arising from the breakdown of his marriage.
