The Supreme Court has overturned a High Court ruling which found that the Minister for Justice had unlawfully breached the rights of several Irish-born children by refusing their parents applications to remain here under the Irish Born Child Scheme.

The Supreme Court has overturned a High Court ruling which found that the Minister for Justice had unlawfully breached the rights of several Irish-born children by refusing their parents applications to remain here under the Irish Born Child Scheme.

The decision related to non-Irish-national parents of children born here before January 1 2005 but this outcome is said to have implications for hundreds of cases.
