Gardaí release man held in connection with Wicklow hit-and-run

Gardaí have released a 33-year-old man arrested following a fatal hit-and-run incident in Co Wicklow yesterday evening.

A 79-year-old woman died after being struck by a vehicle at Scalp in Enniskerry just after 5pm.

The driver failed to stop at the scene.

A man was subsequently detained at Shankill Garda Station, but was released from custody overnight pending instructions from the DPP.
