UL students counselled following discovery of body

Students at the University of Limerick were being offered counselling this afternoon after a young man was found dead in his room this morning.

Gardaí were called to an apartment in Drumroe student village at around 11am where the man was found dead in a bed.

An ambulance crew was called to the scene but efforts to resuscitate him failed.

It is understood he died of natural causes, possibly an asthma attack.

The University and the Gardaí were this afternoon liaising with the man's family.
