Man arrested and sawn-off shotgun seized
Gardaí in south Dublin today recovered a sawn-off shotgun and arrested a 24-year-old man.
At around 11.45am officers responded to a call about suspicious activity at the back of The Black Forge Inn in Drimnagh.
When they arrived they pursued a man on a motorbike.
He was eventually stopped and arrested and the weapon was recovered nearby.
A second motorcyclist fled the area towards Bunting Road and a third was last seen going towards Slieve Bloom Park.
“These two men are still at large,” a garda spokesman said.
The man who was arrested is detained under Section 30 of The Offences Against the State Act at Crumlin garda station.
He can be held for up the 72 hours.
