Gardaí in Co Louth have released three of the eight people arrested yesterday in connection with the murder of Aidan Myers in Dundalk last year.

Gardaí in Co Louth have released three of the eight people arrested yesterday in connection with the murder of Aidan Myers in Dundalk last year.

Six men and two women were detained yesterday morning in connection with the murder of the 37-year-old, who died after being attacked with a machete and run over by a car last December.

The killing is believed to have happened during an attempted car hijacking.

Gardaí say two men and one woman from the eight taken into custody yesterday have now been released without charge.

Another four men and one woman are still being questioned in connection with the incident.
