Severe weather warning for motorists

Motorists have been warned to drive with care throughout the afternoon as heavy winds continue.

Met Eireann has said, while the winds have calmed down from last night, the day will remain quite blustery and showery.

A number of ferry sailings have already been cancelled due to high sea swells.

And while driving conditions have improved somewhat with surface water abating and no danger of major flooding, drivers are being urged to be vigilant.
