Six arrested in connection with murder of Sligo man
Gardaí have arrested six people in connection with the murder of 23-year-old Tom Ward in Sligo.
The father-of-one was attacked in August while sitting in his van outside his parents' home in the Cranmore estate.
He is understood to have received one fatal blow to the head from a weapon believed to be a hatchet.
Three of those arrested today are being questioned at Sligo garda station, while two are being held in Carrick-on-Shannon and the sixth in Castlebar.
