Quinn murder set to dominate Oxfordshire meeting

The murder of 21-year Paul Quinn in Co Monaghan last month is expected to dominate a meeting of the British-Irish Inter-Parliamentary Body in Oxfordshire today.

Delegates at the meeting are expected to press Northern Secretary Shaun Woodward to make a statement about the killing.

Mr Quinn was beaten to death by a gang of men during a paramilitary-style attack after he was lured to an isolated farm in Co Monaghan.

His family has claimed that members of the Provisional IRA were behind the murder, while a unionist politician has claimed the killing was sanctioned by leading republicans in south Armagh.

Sinn Féin has denied any republicans were involved, saying the incident arose as a result of a feud between criminals.
