Aer Lingus union expected to call off strike plan

Passengers planning to travel with Aer Lingus in the coming weeks will be watching closely this morning as SIPTU shop stewards meet at Dublin Airport.

They are expected to call off planned strike action at the airline.

The meeting follows a full day of discussions yesterday between unions and management under the auspicious of the National Implementation Body.

Both sides are now being invited to enter into two weeks of intense discussions aimed at finding a resolution to the row over the airline's cost-cutting plans.

While these talks are underway the NIB is asking that no industrial action be taken by workers and no revised contracts issued by the company.
