Efforts continue to establish lead-up to Omagh deaths

Police in the North are to try to piece together the series of events that led to the deaths of a couple and their five children in a house fire on Monday morning.

Arthur McElhill, his partner Lorraine McGovern, and their five children all perished in the fire at Lammy Crescent in Omagh, Co Tyrone.

Yesterday, the police declared the house a crime scene after establishing that a significant amount of petrol was used to start the fire.

They are treating the deaths as murder and Mr McElhill is reportedly considered to be the prime suspect.

A forensic expert from Britain has been drafted in to comb the remains of the family home in the hope of finding out what exactly happened.
