Uruguayan ministers to meet President
Politicians from Uruguay are to meet the President and Taoiseach during a four-day visit to Ireland this week.
Members of the parliament in Montevideo were invited by Ceann Comhairle John O’Donoghue and the Irish Parliamentary Association.
The Uruguay delegation will also hold talks with Minister for Environment Dick Roche, Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny and Labour deputy leader Joan Burton.
The group is led by Enrique Pintado, Speaker of the House of Representatives in Uruguay.
The politicians will also attend a sitting of the Dáil and Seanad.
“It is hoped that the visit will further develop and deepen Ireland’s excellent bi-lateral relationship with Uruguay,” said an Oireachtas spokesman.
