Elderly Galway woman dies following road accident

A woman in her eighties has died in hospital after being hit by a car in Salthill last night.

The incident happened at Dr Mannix Road at around 6pm yesterday evening.

The woman was brought to Galway's University Hospital where she died this morning from her injuries.

Gardaí in Galway have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
