60 evacuated during fire at Drogheda flats complex

60 people were evacuated from an apartment complex in Drogheda last night during a fire that caused extensive damage to the building.

The blaze, which also destroyed five cars, broke out at the Mill Wharf apartments on North Quay.

The local fire service spent almost three hours tackling the fire.

A technical examination will be carried out later today to determine how it started.
