Harney heckled by Crumlin Hospital protestors
Minister for Health Mary Harney has been heckled today by protestors angry at the plan to locate a new National Children's Hospital on the site of the Mater Hospital in Dublin.
Ms Harney was confronted by a group of local residents as she arrived at Crumlin Children's Hospital to open a new MRI unit.
Under the Government's plans, Ireland's existing children's hospitals in Crumlin, Tallaght and Temple Street will be replaced by the new Mater facility.
The Crumlin residents are vehemently opposed to any plan to close down their local hospital.
