Labour to seek inquiry into Bray firefighter deaths
The Labour Party is to call for an independent inquiry into the deaths of two part-time firemen in Bray two weeks ago.
The call will be contained in a private members' motion due to be tabled by the party in the Dáil this evening.
Mark O'Shaughnessy and Brian Murray died when a roof collapsed while they were tackling a fire at a disused warehouse in Bray.
Their families have since criticised the lack of a full-time fire service in the Co Wicklow town.
Labour's Emmet Stagg says a system should be in place whereby a town will automatically get a full-time service once its population reaches a certain level.
