Elderly man injured in hammer attack

An elderly man was tonight hit on the head with a hammer during a frenzied attack at a petrol station in the North.

The 84-year-old victim was taken to hospital with a serious injury after the intruder entered the premises in Main Street, Waringstown, shortly before 8pm.
