Man killed in tractor crash

A man in his 20s was killed today in a car crash in Donegal – the second young man to die on the county’s roads this weekend.

The accident happened at Moyle, Newtowncunningham, on the Letterkenny to Derry Road at 2.15pm.

The man died after the car he was driving was in collision with a tractor.

A woman in her 20s, who was a passenger in the car, was seriously injured and taken to Letterkenny General Hospital.

In the early hours of yesterday morning, 19-year-old Michael Flanagan from Cashelnavean, Ballybofey, was killed in a crash.

He was driving along the main Ballybofey/Donegal Town road at about 3am when the crash happened.

He lost control of the car, veered off road and crashed into a house near the roadside.
