Ahern defends controversial HSE recruitment freeze

The Taoiseach Bertie Ahern has defended the recruitment freeze imposed by the Health Service Executive in an effort to cut costs.

Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny attacked the Government in the Dáil this morning over cutbacks in health services nationwide.
