School bus driver dies in Co Roscommon crash

A man has died in a road crash involving a school bus in Co Roscommon this morning.

The collision happened at around 8.30am in Elphin.

Gardaí say the dead man was the driver of the bus.

The vehicle is believed to have been carrying up to 40 students to Carrick-on-Shannon community school when it collided with a van in the Hill Street area.

Some of the students are understood to have suffered minor injuries.
