Health service unions are meeting management at Sligo General Hospital today in an effort to reverse plans to cut 40 contract jobs.

The hospital is introducing the cutbacks in an effort to save €6m.

Thirty nurses and four consultants will be affected.

Siptu is threatening to refer the matter to the Labour Relations Commission if the decision is implemented.
