Belfast DNA expert asked to help Kate and Gerry McCann
A Belfast solicitor who has become an expert in questioning DNA evidence has been asked to help Kate and Gerry McCann.
The couple were recently named as suspects in the disappearance of their daughter in the Algarve at the start of May.
The case against them is believed to be based largely on DNA evidence.
Peter Corrigan, who was involved in defending Omagh bomb suspect Sean Hoey, has now been asked to help them clear their names.
In the Hoey case, which has yet to be completed, Mr Corrigan worked to undermine DNA evidence that the prosecution said linked the defendant to the Omagh bomb.
