Gardaí investigate as taxi driver 'threatened with gun'

Gardaí are still hunting for a man who pulled a gun on a taxi driver.

The incident happened shortly after 2 am Monday morning when the foreign-national taxi driver was parked under the railway bridge on the Kilbarrack Road near the junction of the coast road in north Dublin.

The man tried to get into the back of the car, but the taxi driver noticed what appeared to be a gun, after he had pulled a balaclava over his head, the taxi driver sped off without allowing him into the car.

The gunman ran off in the direction of St Donaghs Road, Kilbarrack.

He is described as being in his 40s, 5 feet 9 inches tall, chubby, dressed in denims, long brown hair and scruffy facial hair.

The pellet gun used in the incident was recovered shortly afterwards, however the man is still at large.
